Thiemo Wind is the world’s leading specialist on Jacob van Eyck. He edited the first complete and scholarly substantiated edition of Der Fluyten Lusthof (NewVellekoop Edition). In 2006 he obtained his PhD in this subject. Wind studied musicology at Utrecht University and was also professionally trained as a recorder player and oboist. He has published widely on early woodwinds, Haydn, Bach and other musicological subjects, and has given lectures and masterclasses on Van Eyck at the conservatoires of The Hague, Salzburg (Mozarteum), Amsterdam, Krakow, Bremen, and Utrecht. Until 2016, he was the classical music editor of the Dutch national newspaper De Telegraaf. Today he works as a freelance music journalist and researcher.
